General questions about bathrooms, fitting and MobilityPlus
From 1000mm x 800mm up to 1200mm x 900mm. The offset shape means one side is longer than the other, so you get more standing room inside than a symmetrical quadrant of the same corner footprint would give you. Measure both walls of the corner before choosing a size.
Rimless means there is no raised threshold at the entrance, so nothing to step up over or catch a foot on as you walk in. It is the detail that makes the difference between a shower you step into and one you climb into.
It is a smooth sliding door on a curved corner opening. Because it slides rather than swings, it needs no clearance in front of it, which is useful in a small bathroom where a hinged door would knock into the basin or toilet. There is also no raised threshold at the opening.
8mm toughened safety glass with an easy clean coating, and magnetic seals to keep water inside the enclosure. The easy clean coating helps water run off rather than dry on, which cuts down how often the glass needs wiping. Magnetic seals also close more easily than a stiff rubber strip.
Yes. A fold-away seat is available in either a natural wood or a padded finish. It folds flat against the wall when not in use, so it does not reduce the standing space for anyone else using the shower. Additional grab rails can be fitted alongside it.
A thermostatic mixer or an electric shower, with an integrated riser rail. A monsoon shower head is available as an optional upgrade if you want a wider spray from overhead rather than a handset on the rail. Both options run through the integrated riser rail, so the handset height adjusts.
Usually just a few days. The fitting team work in your bathroom for that period and take away the old fittings and waste, so the disruption is limited to a short stretch rather than weeks of an unusable bathroom. Easy Care wallboards can be fitted during the same visit.
Yes. Easy Care wallboards are available as an optional extra, with no grout and no mould. Fitting them at the same time as the enclosure is more straightforward than doing it later, so it is worth deciding at the quote stage. They come in a choice of marble, concrete and gloss finishes.
What our customers say
“The entire team from Mobility Plus did a marvellous job, from the initial planning, the stripping out of the old, to the replacement with new. The Designer, Project Manager, Electrician, the Fitters all worked well together to give us a lovely new shower room just right for our needs.”
