General questions about bathrooms, fitting and MobilityPlus

The screen is split horizontally into upper and lower sections, and each part opens independently, in the same way a stable door does. You can open just the top, just the bottom, or both, depending on what you need at the time. Both sections run full height together, so water stays inside.

Because the top half opens on its own, someone can help from outside the shower while the lower doors stay closed and hold the water in. Mobility Plus recommend it specifically for households where assisted bathing may be required. Sizes run from 900mm square up to 1800mm by 820mm.

From 900mm x 900mm up to 1800mm x 820mm, with corner, rectangular and alcove layout options. That covers a compact corner shower through to a full run along the wall where a bath used to sit. Frosted or clear toughened glass is available across all of those sizes.

The screens run full height, which is what contains the water properly, but you can choose clear glass rather than frosted to keep the room feeling open. The split doors also mean the top can be left open while you shower if you prefer.

Secure locking handles are available for added reassurance, so the doors stay where you put them rather than swinging while you shower. Being able to hold a fixed handle as you step in and out is part of what makes the doors practical. They are an option rather than standard, so ask when quoting.

The tray has a slip-resistant textured surface as standard, designed to reduce the risk of slips and falls. A fold-away seat in natural wood or a padded finish can be added if you would rather not stand at all. The texture is part of the tray rather than a coating.

An integrated riser rail with a five spray pattern shower head comes as standard, run from a thermostatic mixer or an electric shower. Additional grab rails and a monsoon shower head are available as optional extras. Thermostatic mixers hold the temperature steady, which matters when showering seated.

Anyone with reduced mobility, and particularly households where one person helps another to shower. If nobody needs to reach in from outside, the half height Coniston Bifold or a single panel screen may suit you better and cost less. The design visit is where those options get compared side by side.

What our customers say

“The entire team from Mobility Plus did a marvellous job, from the initial planning, the stripping out of the old, to the replacement with new. The Designer, Project Manager, Electrician, the Fitters all worked well together to give us a lovely new shower room just right for our needs.”
